Sorting Records in a Subform

To sort the records on a subform in a specific order, add a secondary icon to the index that links the subform to the host form. The first hole provides the direct match between the host form and subform; secondary icons in the index are then used to sort the records.

For example, if you are using a "Record Number" field as the Subform link, but you wnt to sort the Subform data by date, place the "Record Number" field in the first hole of an Index object and the "Date" field in the second hole, as shown above. Attach this Index to the Subform's Index column in Show Selection mode in a View object.
