In the early 1990's, Delta Power Services was a small company with only six employees that made a small number of Rigid Inflatable Boats for an infant market. Rigid Inflatable Boats or RIB’s at that time were a comparatively new idea combining the high speed characteristics of a glass fiber reinforced polyester speed boat hull with the buoyancy and soft fendering of an inflated collar.
When Helix was recommended to us in 1993, we soon became stunned by the potential that this product could offer our organization. Initially we used Helix for listing contacts, then very quickly we created and added a standardized quotation form for customer bids. Not only does Helix manage quotation forms, but also work orders, resources, and other projects to help provide each individual customer with a personalized boat according to their requirements. Now our Helix application controls every aspect of the business, and it is well on the way to becoming a fully integrated manufacturing plan with stock control and resource planning.
Our Helix Server runs 12 clients and has helped us become a world leader in our field employing some 50 people. We have achieved ISO 9001, an internationally recognized Quality Assurance certification, only because of the control Helix gives us throughout the business. We now have customers worldwide in the military, law enforcement agencies, rescue organizations, offshore oil, and other commercial operators.
Helix can complete a simple job for one individual and be later designed to meet the needs of a very large business. One would think this flexibility would command a hefty price tag, but it does not. We began using Helix on one machine, and then added clients as we needed them at a very reasonable price.
The recommendation of Helix in 1993 changed the life of our business. Helix was the right choice for us then, and is right for us now. We have no doubt Helix will be the engine that controls the company for many years to come. If our company can be a catalyst to others so that they too can enjoy the benefits of the "Helix Experience," we shall feel rewarded with the thought that we will be playing our part to broaden and strengthen the Helix community.
